2026 Event Information

Everything you need to know before you arrive at Viking Cup 10s

1–3 October 2026 Whitsunday Sportspark, Airlie Beach

Before You Arrive

Viking Cup 10s is a fast-moving carnival with hundreds of games across three days. Please help us keep everything running smoothly by reviewing the key information below before arriving.

All players must be correctly registered through RugbyXplorer before participating.
Players must use the same jersey number throughout the carnival.
Teams should be assembled and ready to take the field before their scheduled game time.
Coaches and managers are responsible for ensuring their team understands the Carnival Rules and Code of Conduct.

Please ensure your team is ready to play prior to its scheduled start time. With a large number of games across the carnival, keeping games on schedule is important.

Results & Match Day

Team managers are responsible for ensuring match results are recorded promptly following each game.

Platform: Rugby Match Day

Further Match Day result-entry instructions will be provided to team managers.

First Aid & Player Safety

Professional first aid services will operate throughout the Viking Cup 10s.

Strapping is not provided by First Aid. Teams requiring preventative strapping should make their own arrangements.

Blue Cards

All Blue Cards must be recorded. A player issued with a Blue Card must not return to play until the required medical clearance has been obtained in accordance with Rugby Australia requirements.

Injuries during games

Game time will not ordinarily be stopped for injuries. Where an injury requires an ambulance or causes a significant interruption, the Competition Manager will assess the situation and determine any necessary adjustment to the schedule.

Cards & Discipline

Yellow cards, red cards, judiciary matters and other disciplinary procedures are governed by the Viking Cup 10s Carnival Rules.

Midges can be active around the Sportspark, particularly later in the day. We recommend bringing insect repellent.

Playing Information

Viking Cup 10s uses modified rugby formats across age divisions. Please refer to the Carnival Rules for the playing format, scrum and lineout requirements, scoring, substitutions and age-specific variations.
